Owning a plantation is everyone’s dream, but taking care of it is no joke. The Company has come up with a solution through a unique plantation management model; it will look after your plantation by signing a renewable management agreement for a period of 20 years. Plantation works: Some of the works to be taken up by the Company include the control of weeds, drip irrigation, fertilizer and micro–nutrients’ application, lime application, replanting of damaged saplings, control of fungal and insect diseases, and the establishment of security. Coffee demands pruning, bordeaux spray, destruction of borer-infected plants, and the harvesting of fruits. Pepper requires special attention to prevent fungal wilt; in addition, mulching, organic manure and micro-organism inputs etc., should be fed in order to produce a regular crop. Silver oak, agarwood and timber trees have to be pruned periodically to regulate shade.

Harvesting & sales: As far as coffee and pepper are concerned, ripe fruits are harvested from each unit, and fresh fruits of each unit are weighed and transported to the processing centre. An exclusive processing, drying and storage unit will also be set up. The production of each unit is calculated on the basis of fresh fruits to processed ones, on the basis of the standard conversion ratio. Finally, coffee and pepper are sold for the best offer from the market, while silver oak is sold in bulk at a wholesale price. A separate sale procedure will be followed for agarwood, as mentioned in the agarwood solutions. If the project is approved for rewards, the profit share from carbon-credits will be delivered to the owners by deducting expenses.

Accounts settlement: The Company will follow a transparent corporate administrative system to maintain expenditure and income of each area, and it is regularly updated as well. The amount is settled once the products are harvested and sold. Amount payable is calaculted taking net profit from individual units into account. Tax is not applicable for agriculture income which is generally 30% for other kind of income The yield and profit from the plantation managed by our Company is much higher than any other normal plantation because of the adoption of proper agro-techniques. Since all the management risks are covered by the Company, owners are the real gainers.

Memorandum of agreement: In order to run the system transparently and smoothly, in the interest of both the owners and the Company, a management and profit share agreement will be signed between the Company and the client. The duration of agreement is for a period of 10 or 20 years depending on cropping pattern and forecast development of the property. In general by the 20th year, two crop cycles of agarwood would have completed, short life span coffee and pepper would have become old and less productive, while silver oak would have well matured for harvesting. By this time, all the crops can be removed, except the Robusta variety of coffee, which has a life span of 70 years. Finally, the Company will have a meeting with all the owners to decide the plan of action for the next period.
